I like to use the Socratic method, mainly by asking questions and challenging assumptions. The love I have for the ASL started when I was vary young because of the relationship I had with my aunt . My aunt was both deaf and blind I remember her sitting alone when we had family diners and gatherings. When learning the language some in my family were shocked and even taken aback at my efforts.
