Ready to love learning

I currently work as a substitute teacher at Riverside Military Academy. I've worked with elementary children and teenagers extensively. My most recent position serves twenty and thirty somethings in their personal and spiritual formation. I have published my writing, acted on stage, spoken before thousands and mentored dozens. My personal intent is to explore life, discover new things, tackle hard challenges and inspire others to do the same. I believe in the value of the individual and don't believe one-size-fits-all.

I was a teaching assistant at North Georgia College and State University for three years. I assisted with laboratory sections of biology courses and taught them in the event of a professors absence. I provided department funded tutoring services during that time as well. I have taken the GRE and Biology Section of the GRE and received excellent scores on both tests in only one sitting. The method of teaching I prefer is maieutic, i.e., one which draws knowledge from the student, rather than attempts to place it in him/her from without. To me, the process of asking questions and allowing the student's curiosity and intelligence to reach conclusions is far more effective than one-sided lecturing. I am endlessly creative, coming up with myriad examples to illustrate concepts.
In 2006 I taught graphic design topics at Westwood College. In 2007 I taught the same subject at The Creative Circus (roughly equivalent to an MBA program for designers, writers, photographers, and art directors). A Little Bit About Me...

I have a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and about seven years of teaching experience in USA and in India. I can teach math for any level. Also I have about 3 years of tutoring experience with students of different level. Presently I am teaching in ESA Ombudsman that is specialized in drop-off students from the school.
Of course I love teaching specifically math of any level. My style is different; instead of teaching I coach my students. When I teach math, I don't simply use formulas and solve the problems; I try to teach how the formula is created and where to use it.

I am a life long learner of many subjects including but not limited to English, mathematics, sciences & technology, and interpersonal communication. While my degree is in Religious studies, which gave me strong language and grammatical skills. I am driven by an insatiable curiosity to learn about many subjects.
