I provided department funded tutoring services during that time as well. I have taken the GRE and Biology Section of the GRE and received excellent scores on both tests in only one sitting. The method of teaching I prefer is maieutic, i.e., one which draws knowledge from the student, rather than attempts to place it in him/her from without. To me, the process of asking questions and allowing the student's curiosity and intelligence to reach conclusions is far more effective than one-sided lecturing. I am endlessly creative, coming up with myriad examples to illustrate concepts.
In 2006 I taught graphic design topics at Westwood College. I am a highly dedicated individual with an Architectural and Engineering Background. I have an Associate of Science in Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering. I have high levels of training in Math and Science. I have always worked with the public including both adults and children. I have a 10-year-old son with ADD. I have been tutoring him from kindergarden to present. He is now in fifth grade and maintains A's and B's. Of course I love teaching specifically math of any level. My style is different; instead of teaching I coach my students. When I teach math, I don't simply use formulas and solve the problems; I try to teach how the formula is created and where to use it.
