A Little Bit About Me...

My first tutoring experience was in my freshman year of college. I tutored basic college algebra and calculus. Having earned two bachelor degrees in both math and physics. I feel I have a good understanding of not only the theory but also the applications of math to science. Tutoring both privately and publicly has also increased my speaking and presentation abilities. I have also tutored test taking strategies for the SAT, ACT, and GRE. In my years tutoring I have tutored middle school through graduate level courses. I also have taught adult students at the community college level.

I began my college career admitted at age 17 to a competitive Bachelor of Nursing program at Boise State University. I took courses in Science, Math, Chemistry, Psychology and Health before I transferred to Brigham Young University-Idaho to pursue Horticulture. BYU-I has one of the top Horticulture programs in the country (as recognized by PLANET). I competed for BYU-I as one of the front most students in 2 years of PLANET competitions. I personally finished twelfth of all 900 students competing and helped take our team to both a 1st and 2nd place finish. I make a point to have fun with my students, and my teaching style relies heavily upon real world examples that my students can both relate to and enjoy. I stand firmly against simply giving my students answers, but rather employ a strategy of leading my students to discovering their own answers.
