I transferred from a 2 year community college in Harriman, TN known as Roane State Community College. Tutoring is one of the most challenging, but rewarding, endeavors that I have undertaken. Each student has a unique learning style; as a tutor, I must determine which style the student favors and then modify the subject matter in a way most suited to the student’s understanding. It is my firm belief that, given enough dedication and the proper teacher, every student is capable of learning. As a tutor, I focus on conceptual understanding behind the problem. A well-taught student should be able to do a problem on a test that he or she has never seen before, so long as the concept is similar to something previously shown.
