I am graduating with my Bachelor's degree in Sociology at Tennessee Technological University of Cookeville, TN. I transferred from a 2 year community college in Harriman, TN known as Roane State Community College. Before starting college, I graduated from Rockwood High School in Rockwood, TN, where I never made lower than a B or a high C in some of my harder classes. I started taking college classes in my Senior year of high school and I was always in the advanced Math classes up until that point. I'm a quick, fast learner and always strive to be better in what I do. Tutoring is one of the most challenging, but rewarding, endeavors that I have undertaken. Each student has a unique learning style; as a tutor, I must determine which style the student favors and then modify the subject matter in a way most suited to the student’s understanding. It is my firm belief that, given enough dedication and the proper teacher, every student is capable of learning. As a tutor, I focus on conceptual understanding behind the problem. A well-taught student should be able to do a problem on a test that he or she has never seen before, so long as the concept is similar to something previously shown.
