My teaching style relies heavily on feedback from the client. I try to have a phone call with a student to learn what they are having difficulty with but also what their professor might expect from them. Then I get a good sense of their personality to understand the best way to get ideas across to them. I have tutored math very often and over the course of helping others, I've learned the British ways of solving a math problem is extremely easy while the American ways are a bit confusing for the students. I could remember a day while working at Dollar Tree HQ in the Finance Department, a math problem arises and it took my supervisor 12 minutes while I solved it in 45 seconds.
