Experience Summary
I have been teaching for seventeen years. I have taught students of all levels and ages, from the student who excels at everything and does not need to study to the student who is struggling to read and comprehend. I have been successful throughout my career with excellent test scores for my students. Throughout my teaching experience, I have learned and perfected many different ways to teach concepts to students according to their ability level. I feel that all students have the ability to succeed, just at different levels. During the span of my career, I have taught English,Reading, Phonics, Writing, SAT Prep, Biology, US History, Algebra, and Spanish. I love to see students become proud of themselves.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and plan to retire as a teacher after thirty years. I feel all students have potential but need someone or something to bring it out. Most of the time, students just need to know that someone believes in them.I teach through verbal, auditory, and kinesthetic modes. Every student learns differently and through different means.I want them to feel a sense of accomplishment when they are finished. My philosophy is much like the old cliche, "Give a man a fish;he eats for a day, but teach a man to fish; he eats forever. If we give students the tools to be successful, they will be successful.Positive influences in the teen years make all the difference in the adult world. I strive to make a difference.
