Children say that I am so patient and relaxed. One little girl asked me last week, "how come I don't grate on your nerves? My mom says I grate on her nerves." Well, no child has ever "grated on my nerves" :) Children know I care about them and we develop a mutual respect for each other.

As a graduate of Sociology I have gained a lot of knowledge about how society functions. I was interested in this area of study to understand peoples because I have always had compassion for others. I have participated in a 4 unit class where i taught Spanish to 8-11 year old children and it consisted of developing a plan that included songs and dancing to learn Spanish in a fun and animated way. I have done research on homelessness, and had an internship with a non profit that provides social services for those in need. Working closely with this organization has helped me assess peoples needs and use problem solving skills to help individuals in a variety of situations.
