I am a graduate from the University California Riverside majoring in biology. During the time I attended college I was employed as a Supplemental Instruction Leader for organic chemistry and concurrently I have been tutoring students in organic chemistry. The Supplemental Instruction program was designed to address classes with high fail and withdraw rates in order to improve ailing students and increase the grades of students who want to do better. My job was to hold 6 hours of sessions on a weekly basis with the subject matter catered to the lecture material. My tutoring experience has been very rewarding, because results are evident within a couple of sessions with the students. I am patient, positive, and creative. As a student in Organic Chemistry I have learned that repetition is the best way to know the material. As a teacher for Organic Chemistry I believe that after the initial topic is covered and somewhat understood the student should be given lots of practice problems. At this point, we can work on the weak parts of the understanding of the material based on how the student can handle the problems. I have earned an MS and an BS in Chemistry. During the course of earning my MS I taught introductory chemistry labs (inorganic) for three semesters at the university I attended. Which has given me an insight into what most professors are looking in their assigned homework. I have also in the past worked as a teaching assistant tutoring students in organic and inorganic chemistry. Through my experiences I have learned how to teach basic chemistry to both groups and on an individual basis. A Little Bit About Me...

I love to share my "hands-on" experiences of the physical world with the students I teach. No matter their age, students can be captivated by the physical world around them. Science doesn't have to be boring. Mathematics is the "language" of science. I taught my own children an appreciation for learning mathematical tools as a means of understanding the physical sciences. My daughter presently hold a doctorate in Mathematics from Dartmouth.
