Currently in a teacher prep program for Special Education. I utilize individual learning styles and approach subject accordingly. In addition to my education I have homeschooled my daughter and my best friends child from pre-school through first grade. They were both reading before Kindergarten. Also, I tutored 3rd through 5th grade in math and english/reading for two years. I have completed my Bachelors and Masters degree in Accounting. At this time, I work with disabled clients to help facilitate their inclusion into the community. We are required to complete 17 hours of education each year relating to the laws and regulations for the services of the disabled as well as specifically for individual diagnosis. My experience in tutoring began in high school. I have experienced helping my own son during his school years while he is educated at home. My teaching style can best be described as varied! I believe that children learn in numerous ways, so as an educator it is my responsibility to provide multiple experiences - visual, oral, tactile, etc. A person walking by my classroom would see children smiling, working in groups, accomplishing projects, and would hear noise. After graduating from Vanderbilt University I taught 5th grade for 2 years while working on my Master's at TSU. I then moved to the Knoxville area and taught K until my son was born in 2000. We then moved to Wisconsin where I taught in various after school programs until my 2 children were old enough for preschool. I then went back part time and taught 4 K until my 3rd child was born in 2005. Throughout this entire time I tutored various children ages 8 - 15 years if age.

I, myself have an 8 year old son who has been diagnosed with ADHD and a mood disorder. I know how extremely hard it is for parents during homework time. I have been working in the social work field for over 5 years. I also worked for Memphis City Schools for two years in various capacities. I have tutored students in various subjects. I love working with children and have two of my own. I am able to meet children where they are. I love to see the "Aha" moment when children figure out a concept.
