A Little Bit About Me...

I earned a degree in Biology, which has fully equipped me for tutoring to children who have difficulties in any subject, but especially science. By being a Biology major I was exposed to all types of seminars, scientific research, labs and other various types of learning implements that have been beneficial in my teaching practices. In the past two years I have privately tutored two children from the ages of 5 and 7. I have tutored them in every subject from reading, and math to science projects. I have also worked at a preschool Kehillah Jewish Preschool with 4 and 5 year olds preparing them for kindergarten, which included phonics, reading, writing, number and letter recognition, pre-math skills such as measuring and sorting.

I have children of my own and have always enjoyed experiencing learning through their eyes and observing the different ways in which they learn. I am comfortable working with all age ranges and can accommodate special needs that a student might have. I relate well with most children and view them as a whole child with many strengths and weaknesses. Each is unique and may require multiple modes of instruction. I understand the learning process and what research shows about good learning and I want to see each student succeed—whatever that might mean for each particular student.
