Audio, oral, and immersion techniques are my preferred method of teaching. This includes various activities with radio programs, conversation simulation, and learning to think on your feet in Spanish.
As a certified translator and an aspiring interpreter, the Spanish language is a major part of my life and I thoroughly enjoy sharing it with interested students. I received my degree in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and have gathered a vast understanding of teaching methods as a tutor during my time there. I have studied French for about 10 years, starting with classes in high school, and enjoyed it so much that I continued my studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My studies focused primarily on French literature, though I was particularly interested in francophone literature from Quebec and the Antilles. Following that, I went on to enroll in a unique program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Professional French Masters Program (PFMP). The goal is of the program is to combine French with a given area of concentration, which allowed me to continue honing my language skills while studying immigration. This culminated in a 4-month internship in Montreal, where I worked with Haitian immigrants in a community center. The experience was incredibly challenging but enriching, and I hope to continue working with French in the future.

A Little Bit About Me...

I like to laugh, have fun, and create a comfortable environment for individuals to learn. It is important to have that type of space so as to ensure that students do not form a sense of anxiety when entering the room or when studying that particular subject. I love creating a variety of activities: group, individual, hands-on, problem solving, comprehension and reading, and activities where students have to get up and move around.
