I have been teaching all my life. Last year, I lived in Prague, Czech Republic, and taught English to students aged five through adult. They included children, accountants, analysts, engineers, energy experts, and lawyers. I've also taught swimming lessons to individual students and group classes for over ten years. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with children of all ages in different environments and capacities for the past 20 years. It all started at the YMCA Afterschool and Summer Programs which gave me my first satisfactory feeling for being around young people. That led to substitute teaching and to 6 years in the classroom with 6th graders. For 1 year I taught English as a Foreign Language in Slovenia and Germany. As a college graduate with both a bachelor's and master's degree, I have always been seeking excellence in learning. My teaching style would be that of Guided Discovery. This is a highly interactive style which leads the student to uncover the answer themselves as opposed to the teacher simply reciting the answer to them. Guided Discovery requires the student to learn by doing therefore developing necessary problem solving and deductive skills that will make them better learners and thinkers both now and in the future.
