Learning can be fun!

I am currently teaching English as a second language to post-secondary international students at California State University Sacramento. I teach all areas of English, including grammar, composition, reading, and listening and speaking skills. I have taught beginning English to refugees in Sacramento, as well as English as a foreign language in Guatemala and Honduras. I have taught both adults and children and love both populations of learners. I am also currently tutoring three Chinese girls with various proficiencies in English. I have worked with students from various language backgrounds including but not exclusive to Arabic, Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, African dialects and others. Experienced and very friendly English teacher ready to help!

I love working one on one with a student. Wherever the student needs help or wants improvement, that is where I meet them. I'm very patient and extremely friendly, and I am determined to help a student understand in any way I can! I also think cookies help studying :) Sometimes, unusual methods like movie clips, cartoons, reading passages, or other "real-life" experiences help to solidify a topic, so I'm not afraid to think outside the box!
