In May 2012, I received my bachelors degree in English with a Literature Emphasis and a minor in Writing. I graduated with a 3.6 g.p.a. (Cum Laude Honors.) Throughout college, I took various education courses that focused on educational philosophy and physiology, elementary and secondary concentrations, and students with disabilities. I was able to obtain 36 education credits and in 2009, I was admitted into the school of education at my university where I was able to engage in student teachings, researchers, and observations. In 2011, I participated in the student outreach program where I would visit elementary, middle, and high schools to tutor them in English, Math, or Science and guide them through the learning process. I believe that a child cannot fully come to comprehend subject matter without having a chance to be immersed in it first. This philosophy lends to the hands-on, question-oriented form of teaching that I so firmly stand by. I realize that different people employ different strategies in coming to learn new material and I will adjust the way I teach as best I can in order to accommodate each and every individual detail. My teaching style revolves around how the child learns. I adapt my lesson's around how the child will be able to best learn the material. I want to see them grow and develop as much as they can. I am now a teacher at a private school in Monona. I help aid a Preschool classroom and have my own classroom in the afternoon for students age four. I also run an after school program once the school day is done with and that incorporates 4 year-olds to seventh graders. I help students out with homework during that time.
