Experience Summary
I have been a Special Education Teacher for 15 years and an administrator for 5 years. I have taught at both the elementary, intermediate and high school levels. I have worked with students who have been severely cognitively disabled and those that have had multiple attention and behavioral concerns. I am very patient and have been able to create systems to provide structure to keep kids on track. I always want children to know what to expect and have a structure in which to be successful.
Teaching Style
I believe my patience and creativity allows children to feel comfortable with their own learning needs. I work with them and help them find their unique learning style. We then build on that style to build their confidence and ability. All children can learn once we find their unique learning "channel".
My Hobbies
I love to scrapbook, make greeting cards and am learning to knit and sew. When I am not crafting, I love hanging out with my husband and my two mini wiener dogs- Maddie and Murphy.
Other Comments
I would love to help children who may be frustrated with learning, find their unique learning style and experience success! We should go through life wanting to learn more--not being frustrated with learning!

Sometimes this takes time to find methods that work. I am very patient and am used to getting creative and trying out many methods of teaching to find the child's learning style. |
