I love working with children of all ages. I really like elementary age children. I have a hands-on approach to education. I want kids to get their hands into activities so that they may retain things longer. Now I do realize that not every student is hands-on. That is the responsibility of a teacher or tutor to find out what works for each student and set the envioronment for each learning experience.
I taught public school for 4 years before getting a masters degree in Religious Education with a Concentration in Childhood Education. I am a graduate of Florida A&M University with a BS in Political Science, I am currently completing my MA degree at Barry Univeristy in Tallahassee, Fla. I was a Resource Teacher and wokred in the Innovation School of Execellence. I was Executive Director at a Christian Academy in Live Oak, Florida. I was also Director of the SES program (that was a sub-site)at our academy. I staffed 15 employees, 5 of which was retired accredited teacher. I also taught in our SES program.
I enjoy working with children. I know that all children are capable of learning and they believe if you believe. We taught the State of Florida ABECA style of teaching. I am a firm believer of not having one particular teaching style. Every student process information differently. This is why I strongly believe in adapting to the student needs. I am firm believer of patients and determination. I myself have had multiple tutors during my grade school years. My experience as a student needing a tutor introduced me to multiple teaching styles. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very hands on and visual teacher that believes the best way to learn is by seeing and doing things yourself. In order to provide the best teaching expereince I would teach through multiple examples and putting difficult subject matter into a context the student can understand and visualize. I began my higher education at Tallahassee Community College in 1997. After receiving my AA Degree I transferred to F.S.U where I majored in Criminology with a minor in Spanish and graduated in 2003. Since that time, I've worked as a legal assistant/paralegal with different law firms in town. Recently, I decided to return to school and received my certificate in Massage Therapy.
The thing I love most about teaching is opening up someones eyes to something new and seeing the "wow" look on their faces. Sometimes certain subject matter is not always easy for a person to learn. I've always appreciated the teacher that went out of their way with a great amount of patience to make sure I understood. I take a lot from the amazing teachers I've had and would hope to be able to pass that on.
