A Little Bit About Me...

I taught public school for 4 years before getting a masters degree in Religious Education with a Concentration in Childhood Education. I wanted to complement my undergraduate Elementary Education degree. Therefore, I choose the childhood education concentration at seminary. Then I was a Assoicate Pastor for Children for over 13 years where I supervised paid workers and planned activities for a children's ministry at a local church. I had to maintain a budget for this ministry in the amount of $38,000. Over the course of all of these years, I have learned a vast array of skills.
I love working with children of all ages. I really like elementary age children. I have a hands-on approach to education. I am a graduate of Florida A&M University with a BS in Political Science, I am currently completing my MA degree at Barry Univeristy in Tallahassee, Fla. I was a Resource Teacher and wokred in the Innovation School of Execellence. I was Executive Director at a Christian Academy in Live Oak, Florida. I was also Director of the SES program (that was a sub-site)at our academy. I staffed 15 employees, 5 of which was retired accredited teacher. I also taught in our SES program.
I enjoy working with children. I know that all children are capable of learning and they believe if you believe. We taught the State of Florida ABECA style of teaching. We in the teaching profession are the basis of a child's future, this is not to be held litely or taken for granted. They are our future.

I am a firm believer of not having one particular teaching style. Every student process information differently. This is why I strongly believe in adapting to the student needs. I am firm believer of patients and determination. I myself have had multiple tutors during my grade school years. My experience as a student needing a tutor introduced me to multiple teaching styles. In example as an elementary student, I did not work well with disciplinarian tutors. As a high school student a tutor that was “straight to the point” allowed me not to slack or give up to quickly.
