As an Elon University Love School of Business graduate I have extensive training in all aspects of business including Finance, Accounting, and Marketing. In addtion I have excellent written and oral communication skills from outside courses and previous tutoring experience.
Though I have no official experience as a tutor, being the oldest of three children there was always an oppurtunity to help with homework. I have tutored throughout school and into college. During college, I mentored and tutored two young girls from an under-privileged school for a local program. After college, I did some private consulting, helping people write admissions essays and prepare for the ACT and other standardized tests. I've also worked as a Google Answers Researcher and as a grants adviser to nonprofit foundations.
I like to get to know the child and form a friendship with him or her. Once we develop a rapport it is easier for them to open up to me. When the comfort level is established we then develop a mutual-learning relationship, as I can learn from the student just as much as he or she can learn from me.
