My comments on tutoring GED : I had worked with students from a variety of cultural backgrounds in alternative schools preparing them for the GEDs. I have also been part of the exam process.

I am very aware of the necessity of adapting my teaching style to the learning modality of those I am working with. As an educator I evaluated students to define how they best process information. They may be auditory learners, visual learners or they may use a combination approaches. I am very patient and understand that everyone can learn. I believe in setting goals and evaluating progress to establish new goals when necessary.
I have taught in Michigan and in California. I also have credentials as a school counselor and psychologist. I have experience with all aspects of the special education system from the K through grade 12 level. This incudes testing, placement and re-evaluation and the IEP process. After working at Outdoor Science School for the last two years, I have changed in the ways I approach children and their learning. There are so many different learning styles, as there are many different children.
