I graduated from Wheelock College with a double major in Human Development and Elementary Education. Working with children has always been an interest of mine and something I enjoy doing. I believe all students have the ability to succeed. In my experience, the most important thing to remember is that all students learn differently, and sometimes what seems like an impossible task just needs to be presented differently for better understanding. Relating the material to situations and applications that are relevant and familiar to that particular student is a much more productive and beneficial way to have students retain information. As a University of Southern Maine graduate, I look forward to having my own classroom where I can touch many students' lives. I have earned my BA in General Science with a concentration in Earth Science. I tend to use the many experiences that I have learned from in my own classroom and with students that I can help. I graduated from Plymouth State University in 2008 with my B.S. in Health Education. My option was Wellness Management which has a business component but in obtaining the degree I was required to do some teaching as well. (Not formally, more presentations to my peers and community education. I do not have a teacher certification.) I am a Certified Health Education Specialist which is a certification on top of my degree. I did some mentoring while I lived in Dover, NH and greatly enjoyed my time spent working with youth.
