Suzuki certified Adjunct Faculty: Guitar at Lonestar College Kingwood since 2007 I have been playing guitar since 1990. I began studying classical guitar in 1996, at Lonestar college, before attending the University of New Orleans. My undergraduate degrees are in English and Classical guitar. I was a graduate assistant at The University of Akron where I received my Masters. I have been teaching private lessons since 1999 and currently maintain an active teaching schedule. My teaching style is a very flexible style. I understand that everyone has a different method for learning and I have to adapt in order for the student to learn. Since I've mostly dealt with music for teaching experience, I'll refer to that area of expertise to illustrate my methods. I usually start off with ear training exercises because as a musician this is a must have skill. Then we go over basic aspects of music such as rhythm or basic chords. Eventually, after enough has been learned, I make the class more challenging and try to get the student to think in many different ways and allow them to be flexible with their minds as well.
