My major complaint with the current pedagogy of STEM fields is there focus on teaching students to be able to produce answers so a slew of canned and frankly uninteresting problem sets. There is so much interesting literature, philosophy, and history in the fields of science and physics that it makes very little sense to muddle with these less helpful and dull techniques and problems. Physics and math education has become so perforated with cliche that shows like Cosmos and the elegant universe can become hits by just regurgitating the same buzz-theories (Schrodinger's cat, Black holes, the multiverse etc.) in the same, cloddish language (space-time is 'warped' and twisted, quantum 'weirdness', etc). This lack of original language and analogy is not a semantical issue; it's suggestive of the philistine cleaving of the sciences from the arts and it's very disturbing -- these truly awesome ... read more

My experience is all in college. I had 9 Labs in college in all my science courses. I excelled very well in my science courses and i keep learning. Did great in my research project class. Played college baseball so i am great with athletes that do not want to study. I can break down big concepts into smaller concepts that is understandable for all students in the academia process. I studied a lot myself to achieve success in college and do well in classes. Hands on, and more of an application study. I believe that the only way to actually understand something is being able to apply it to real world situations.

I got my math Diploma when I was 16. I was tutoring math during high school to my classmates and my friends. I am in college right now but I still teach math to my sister who is in 9th grade, and my mom who is in college right now. I have experience of teaching math but I never really get paid for that and I was not like a real employee.

I taught in two public high schools in Orange and Osceola Counties in the Central Florida area for 5 years where I earned the Professional Educators Certificate to teach mathematics 6 - 12. For the past 10 years, I have been teaching at a Huntington Learning Center while privately tutoring students from the area middle, high school, and community colleges. My teaching style adapts to the students current level of knowledge. I always model 2 or 3 problems step by step before asking the student to try a problem. A student is comfortable knowing that I have "their backs" and won't let them be frustrated for long. This gives a student confidence to try problems on their own.

I am currently a college sophomore at Florida Institute of Technology studying Computer Engineering so I know the problems a high school or school or college student would face in studies. Therefore, I will be able to communicate with m y students better and help them excel in studies and eliminate their weak points in any subject. I have no teaching style since I believe that to succeed one needs to seriously study and teach and cover your weakest subjects first. I have taught high school students for five years now. However, I have taught college freshman for a year only. But, I do know what I am doing and I know how to help students. I am patient with everyone so I can communicate better and understand my students problems so, I have always succeeded in helping my students.

Teaching science is not about teaching facts. Science is based on theories, which evolve through the process of discovery. Thus, it is important to teach a student not what to think, but how to think. With little formal teaching experience, my philosophy draws on what I have liked in my teachers. First, and foremost, is enthusiasm. A professor who is clearly excited by the subject is more likely to spark excitement in the students. Second, it is important to relate to the students on a more personal level. This needs to occur in both directions. I believe the students need to see me as more than a teacher providing the information, but as a scientist and a person with my own views. I have had a broad interdisplinary education and a variety of work experiences related to ecology and wildlife. I have worked directly with animals and conducted complex mathematical simulation models.

I love teaching even though I haven't had opportunity to be responsible for a whole class.I felt the passion to make a different in the kids' life.I love working with ESOL students specially those who have embarras in English.I believe throughout my teaching, I can be inspired the kids to be focus on education. I work at lake Alfred Elementary school as a paraprofessional. I performed other language interpretation duties as assigned, such as providing general information at an information counter to the non-English speaking public and processed documents related to interpretation.I helped students into the classrooms who are unable to understand math and reading as well.I received daily calendar assignments from the school administration to translate into Creole and Spanish and accurately completed daily activity logs, and other documentation as required. I am experienced working with management and end-users to design, document, develop, implement, and maintain software in a wide variety of applications on a wide variety of computer platforms. My teching experience comes as a volunteer at PromiseLand Ministries, a homeless shelter with a drug-alcohol rehabilitation program, run by Spring Creek Community Church, in Crawfordville, Florida. (15 hours/week 1994-1997). I taught GED classes 1 night per week (1995-1996). I also served in day-to-day operations and as a church Deacon. I try to see how the student is perceiving the subject, and then, try to teach them by building on their level of comprehension. I like the feeling of meaningful accomplishment when I help someone learn something new and feel better about themselves.

I love teaching elementary, middle and high schoolers. I believe that every child has the capability to excel at anything if they put their mind to it. I do understand that there are some children who learn very quickly and other who are slower which is why it is important to teach in different way. I enjoy having my students tell me how they are doing better in school. As a graduate of business who worked several years in the Financial services industry and having four young children. I saw the importance and having to tutor my children at home so they can have a better education. I home schooled and taught my eight year old who has a learning disability and autism. He is back in school and I am so proud that he excels in math and gets awards frequently. In in the past two years I have tutored three middle schoolers. I have also scored test for ETS.

I'm a summa cum laude cultural anthropologist with field work experience in the Americas, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. I also worked for BP as geophysicist for the exploration department. I taught middle and high school in the middle east in the areas of Physical Science, Modern languages and Modern History. For three years I taught college students here in Florida Humanities and Anthropology. I have also privately tutored middle/high school and college level students in mathematics. We educate students into the discipline of their choice in order to facilitate the achievement of their goals. The students in my classroom have a dream and that is the reason they are there, to pursue that dream. As an educator, my mission is to act as the facilitator of that dream. I help my students reach the goals that they have set for themselves, usually by translating textbook knowledge into d
