I understand that all children learn differently and I am able to adapt my teaching style to fit the child. I am both patient and positive and I like to give the student confidence. I have been working with children for several years. I started by teaching dance at a local dance studio while I was in high school. I love working with children who need a little extra support. The proud look of accomplishment children who struggle have when they succeed is very rewarding. For a student to really understand a math they need to learn the concept not just the formula. Many times this means taking the abstract and making them as concrete as possible. Every student can learn with some modifications and a little extra work.
My first teaching experience came from tutoring my own daughter who has a learning disability.This experience has taught me to see first hand the difficulties children can have learning new concepts.
