I am currently a college sophomore at Florida Institute of Technology studying Computer Engineering so I know the problems a high school or school or college student would face in studies. Therefore, I will be able to communicate with m y students better and help them excel in studies and eliminate their weak points in any subject. For the past 10 years, I have been teaching at a Huntington Learning Center while privately tutoring students from the area middle, high school, and community colleges.
My teaching style adapts to the students current level of knowledge. I always model 2 or 3 problems step by step before asking the student to try a problem. I believe that too many students find math challenging because of the way they are taught. Too many teachers have made it not fun and frustrating and are unwilling to explain the "whys", which can make a big difference to a child. This may be due to lack of understanding on the teacher's part, but I believe strongly that a solid education, especially in all areas of math, will help with problem solving and many other "real life" situations that can arise.
