I currently work as a Site Coordinator with a organization called Communities In Schools of Kent, at Mill Creek Middle school. A position that I will be in for the remainder of the year. In the Fall of 2013 I will be attending the University of Michigan's School of Social Work. In 2012 I graduated with a B.S. of Psychology. from Wilberforce University, in Ohio. For the past three-four years tutoring has been a huge part of my career experience, ranging from adolescents to college students. When I teach, I try my best to be open minded, and to give choices to the student, rather than follow a closed-box cookie cutter curriculum. I've found it's important to find a personal way of learning for a specific student. Variety is important, because every child learns a little differently. Some kids learn by listening, others by seeing. Some kids learn only when they're making things. Encouragement and recognition when progress is attained by the student is a great incentive.
