Experience Summary
I am a retired school teacher that has been tutoring all elementary grade students, as well as intermediate students. I have a great deal of teaching in both teaching and tutoring. I feel very confident to teach all subjects in the elementary grade levels. I am a positive, sensitive teacher and I feel that all students can succeed if they are taught with the following in mind: the learning style/s of the student, the developmental level of the student, changing the motivational level of student (if necessary), an accurate evaluation of the student is analyzed, determine realistic goals and keep the student on task with an enjoyable environment that is conducive to learning.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is usually a one-on-one approach beginning with material that is proven to be relatively easier for the student so that that we can establish an enjoyable,interactive approach. We will progress to the level that will take more "thinking" on the student's part. Challenges are also necessary.
I have a quiet manner and recognize the importance of the student knowing what is being asked of him/her.
My goal is to enhance "independent" thinking in my students. I understand the importance of each individual student's strengths and weaknesses and help the student to thrive on their strengths and continue to improve their weaknesseses. My goal is for all children to reach their potential.I love children, I love teaching!!!!!
