I am very passionate about educating others and have used my two Education degrees (Bachelor’s and Master’s) to work with students of all levels, especially in math. In my three years of full-time teaching experience, I have taught 6th grade math, 8th grade math, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-calculus, Trigonometry, and AP Calculus. Additionally, I have two years of experience tutoring elementary students in reading and writing, as well as volunteering many hours to help run educational programs for elementary through college age students.
I absolutely love teaching and especially enjoy working with upper level students, although I love working with children as well. I believe every student has been given unique gifts and talents, but needs others to help them discover those abilities. I got my first teaching experience as a lab instructor for undergraduate physics labs and fell in love with the profession. The best part of the experience is seeing the student grasp a concept that they felt out of reach. I enjoy coming up with inventive ways of communicating the difficult portions of math and science. Most of my students benefited from my teaching style which includes many examples and encourages a dialogue approach to difficult concepts.
As a non-traditional student I recognize the necessity to create a level of confidence that inspires a student to continue their education with success.
