July 2011 I graduated from University of West Georgia in Carrollton with a B.S. in Middle Grades Education. I began substituting for the Heard County School System in August 2011. When I was in middle and high school, I served as a peer tutor. I guess you can say that I have always had a desire to teach. Many children struggle with classroom learning because they require a different learning method than the one being offered or more direct attention than a teacher of 20+ students can offer. As a person I have always held my work ethic to remarkable standards. I've finished an Associate's Degree in two years flat, and am well on my way to having completed a bachelor's in only three and a half years time. I would say my teaching style is more relaxed. I believe this helps one see students weaknesses and strengths better. It also allows one to compare the overall effect of teaching for each student. When I see a student falling behind then thats when I take action and try top get them where they should be in that area. I worked for 11 years in Virginia as a paraprofessional in the school system, originally doing strictly homebase work with handicapped children, then moving into the schools.
