At the University of California-Berkeley, I have pursued my academic interests and personal convictions through a variety of study, work and volunteer experiences. I enjoy teaching and helping all children. I am a strong believer that all children can be taught all subjects, and should be given the opportunity to do just that. I am always willing to teach the child, in the best way that will help them, whether this be through explanation, or through a hands on approach. Children are our future, and should be given the opportunities to learn.

A Little Bit About Me...

I currently have a BS in biology with a Minor in Chemistry and 2 concentrations. Earning this degree enabled me to not only study biology, but also allowed me to study mathematics. I have taken math courses up to Calculus and am able to tutor in Algebra, Basic Math, and Calculus. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in individualized teaching. In my sixth grade classroom, I individualized instruction wherever possible. In reading I tested my students and placed them in books at their reading level. I had them write reading summaries and corrected their first drafts. In sixth weeks, I retested and in most instances moved students to a higher level. In my math classes, I tested students and had them begin at the level that they needed to master. If a student could not add, I had him work on his addition skills. I moved students to the next skill level once they had mastered the level that they were working on. Of course, I did group teaching in my classroom, but I individualized wherever possible.
