My comments on tutoring Marine Biology : Was a Marine Biology minor in college. I also worked for over a year and half as a Marine Mammal Biologist.

I have always approached a teaching lesson as a learning opportunity. Learning is a fundamental skill. If you don't have your basic fundamentals, your student will have difficulty advancing. So, I always start with basic fundamentals such as; note taking, study skills, and comprehension! All sciences demand the ability to link concepts together. Ex. cells make up tissues, tissues make up organs, organs make up organ systems,etc.....! By understanding the make-up of cellular structures and relating that to tissue functions the students can fully understand a subject. This proves true with all subjects. By impowering the student with good base fundamentals, my students find it easier to link concepts together.

15 years experience in a broad variety of subjects!

I have been tutoring for over 15 years both in students homes or at public locations such as coffee shops or the public library. My education and experience are broad. I was educated at "Ivy League" level schools and purposefully educated myself in a large variety of the humanities, which in essence all tie together. Basic courses up through most High School material outside of the Humanities are not difficult. Actually, while my education has been primarily in the Humanities, the material I see the most in tutoring is Algebra and Geometry!

I am an Elementary Education Major at the University of Florida and have helped many students succeed in all subject areas, with a strong focus on Elementary Education. Some subjects that I particularly tutor in include: math, science, english, social studies, and language arts. I also supply a student with supplemental material I feel will help them learn better and at their own, individual pace. From my own experiences as a student I have come to the opinion that the most valuable educational accomplishment one can achieve is to “learn how to learn”. This seems to be a state of mind, an epiphany if you will, which hopefully will be realized at some point in the course of an individual’s intellectual development. While earning my degree in physics at the University of Central Florida I found that tutoring was an excellent experience for both my students and me.
