I hold a BS in Biology from the University at Albany. I also have a profound love for mathematics and have tutored numerous students in calculus I and II while in college. Going along with my love for mathematics I enjoy the study of physics and tutored two students in both physics I and II while in college. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always wanted students to really know the material being covered. This has meant keeping their interest through jovial yet concentrated lesson planning. I have always strived to make my students feel comfortable and to take on the responsibility for their own learning. Much too often Educators show students how to answer questions rather than helping the student learn how to handle new scenarios. A Little Bit About Me...

While completing my teaching degree I taught for three years with troubled youth. Subjects were regents level and the subject was earth science and algebra or course I as it is called in NY. I have also taught Summer school at the Allen Center in South Kortright which can be a tough crowd to work with. During my undergraduate studies I tutored chemistry and biology. I also taught 8th grade physical science in Prince George Virgina.
In science and math the learner has to practice much like learning to play a musical instrument. It helps if you can bring real world applications into the classroom so it is meaningful to the students otherwise they feel like they are learning something just for the cause of learning.

For six years as a college professor or lecturer and five years as a graduate student teaching assistant, I have found teaching chemistry to be the most enriching facet of my scientific career. Of my many experiences, however, I have found none quite as demanding or reciprocal in reward as a lecturer at the University of New Hampshire and then an assistant professor at Hartwick College. Having forty students observing you and learning from you for fifty minutes each class is quite formidable.
