I am very open to helping any Geology/Earth Science student no matter what the situation. I am a former Geology student at SUNY Cortland who graduated May 2015. Throughout my career I have proven my strengths in knowing, understanding, communicating, and sharing Geology/Earth Science. I believe anyone can learn and their quality of knowledge improved by finding a level and rapport that works for each individually. I work patiently, with humor, and at a pace with students that helps them to feel not only comfortable but appreciated for their efforts. I consider a key ingredient to be to first find what base levels of knowledge the student has before plunging into the subject at hand. Once this base has been assessed, then it is much easier to explain the principles and methods required to solve most any problems. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always wanted students to really know the material being covered. This has meant keeping their interest through jovial yet concentrated lesson planning. I have always strived to make my students feel comfortable and to take on the responsibility for their own learning. Much too often Educators show students how to answer questions rather than helping the student learn how to handle new scenarios. This is the essence of my teaching: helping students see the big picture so that they can handle any new scenario. My classroom always has many things going on at once, which is a direct result of the student driven learning and presenting.
