I am the author of five historical novels and a number of articles, poems and short stories. I occasionally do short “residences” teaching Language Arts and Drama to special needs students in k-12 schools for VSA Arts of Florida. My graduate studies emphasized American and Tudor/Stuart History. My doctorate included a Criminal Justice minor. I regularly teach writing and grant writing seminars to adults, usually through libraries on weekends or in the evening. I like to help students connect with the subject we are working with. It is very difficult to help a student who is uninterested or unfocused. I like to find out what interest them and apply that to the subject. It is so gratifying to see a that moment when a student "gets it". I graduated with a bachelors in Communication. I have 4 years experience in forensics speaking. I was a competitor in speech and debate and a national gold medalist. While living overseas in both Ukraine and Mexico I taught ESL through a non-profit organization for 4 1/2 years.
