My undergraduate background is in philosophy and my teaching experience is in mathematics. I have experience working with learners of all ages. My earliest classroom experiences while studying at Kent State were with Kindergarten and 1st Grade classes, and I have substituted in classrooms all the way up through high school. I have worked with adults in a GED prep and ESL environment, and my certification/area of expertise is with adolescent and young adult learners. I always seek to individualize my instruction. My passion is sharing my knowledge with others. I studied at Kent State in Kent, Ohio. While at Kent I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, and a minor in English with extensive course work in business. Following undergraduate study, I ventured on to complete a Master of Arts in Physical Education. My concentration was Therapeutic Recreation with a focus in gerontology. I taught a class during my graduate assistanceship and acted as a teaching assistant to three professors. Me teaching style is similar to my leadership style, democratic. I have taught for 30 Years. The first 9 years at Cleveland Central Catholic, mostly traditional Social Studies classes with a few honors level. Since 1989 I have been at Fairview HS, teaching At-risk and regular classes in Social Studies; Government, World History and American History.
