I have taught second, third, fourth, and fifth grade. I was a teacher for 9 years. I just recently decided to resign from my teaching position to stay at home with my four year old son. For a total of six years, I taught students in grades K-5, trained teachers to use technology, and served as the webmaster. After working in Clayton County Public Schools, I worked in Dekalb County Public School System as a classroom teacher. Learning is a Stepping Stone to a Successful Elevator

My style of teaching is based upon the needs of students. Learning can take place through hands on techniques, art, creativity, music, dance, paper/pencil, drama, or team work. I believe students can have fun and learn at the same time. Projects and out of the box activities are creative teaching techniques to help students extend, expand or develop their talents.

Reluctant & Struggling Readers can become Good Readers!

I worked for 12 years as a Special Education teacher in the public school system, teaching students with ADD, learning disabilities, autism, Aspergers, emotional and behavior disorders, and mild intellectual disabilities in a resource room and inclusion setting. I am able to quickly make significant connections with the students, building the good rapport that is essential to achieving a good working relationship.
