Just knowing which equation to use for a certain type of problem will not help a student succeed in future courses. Students should also know that repetition is the best way to master a skill.

28 Year Veteran Reading, Writing, and Math Tutor

My teaching style is very hands-on, involving pictures, manipulatives, and tactile modalities. I like to use a dry-erase board to demonstrated concepts as well as allow the student to practice. I believe that grammar and punctuation are critical in written expression. I am very focused on the learning style of the student and will begin with most student making that determination and connection with the student. I also work well with students who are dyslexic, have ADD/ADHD, and who are left-handed. I attempt to build a relationship with the student so that are willing to listen, learn, and work to master their assignment and/or skill.
