A Little Bit About Me...

As a business woman of 24 years, I have gained valuable experiences in many different sectors; banking, customer service, marketing, sales, public relations and teaching. I excel in the Marketing/PR field which entails most of the jobs I have held. I also like teaching children. Most of my teaching has been with grades K-8 which I really enjoy. During my years of private piano teaching, I learned so much from the students as far as "teach the child the subject, not teach a subject to a child." Each child is unique and different. Having the chance to attend one of the largest universities in the world has truly allowed me to experience opportunties to influence young minds. The difference in my experiences and those of others is that the experiences I come across require much more dedication and devotion simply because it is not related to my field of study. All of the experiences that I became a part of where individually sought out by me throughout all of the required clinical hours for my major. I will be graduating in June 2009 with a degree in Allied Health Professions.
I believe the best way to teach students is by utilizing a variety of learning styles. For example, for a visual learner, diagrams and pictures should be used but in order to compliment that repeating audible explanations would be great for someone who is an auditory learner.
