A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught as a tutor in High School, and college. I also taught in the adult education system of Fairborn, Ohio. I have acted as a group home monitor for MR/DD adults. I am presently tutoring a young adult in cost control and algebra.
I tailor my teaching style to the student. I first evaluate where the student is by building rapport, discussing the problem he/she is having, talking to the teacher, and talking to the parents. I then begin focusing on the area where the student is having difficulties. It may be that the student requires help with homework as well as review of fundamentals. I address both areas, always encouraging the student.

Throughout my high school career I have been devoted to academic success of my fellow classmates as well as my self. I continued this attitude in the accomplishment of achieving a BS degree in biology. Along the way of my academic success I have acquired multiple skills in every subject that has added to my love of learning and discovering. As an undergraduate I studied computer engineering with a minor in math. After earning my B.S. I wanted to continue studies and push my career more towards math and physics so I earned an M.S. in electrical engineering. As a graduate student I had a revelation that caused me to reexamine math and engineering concepts, which led to a deeper understanding of them. I am now pursuing a PhD in electrical engineering. My teaching experienced has been unfortunately limited to tutoring family and friends in their college math courses over the past few years. However, those experiences have provided great insight into how to effectively teach a subject, and I am ready to use this experience to benefit a wider audience.
