My teaching style is like a coach. I show the student the method to solve the problem and then I observe, correct and praise the student while he/she solves similar problems. It is important to explain the underlining principle in the problem so the student will be able to solve similar problems without just memorizing a few rules. In 2002 I graduated with a degree in biotechnology. During the last semester of school, I was a substitute teacher, where I learned a lot about children and different teaching styles. After graduation, I pursued a career as a chemist, but I always maintained a second part-time job teaching, in some fashion. Usually, that teaching involved a pool.
