A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent graduate of a high ranking tech school with my BS in Business Administration and Materials Engineering I am very familiar with the academic setting and learning styles of various students. My areas of study require me to be familiar with high level mathematics and science in addition to an understanding of communication skills in both technical writing, such as lab reports, and business communication techniques. Throughout my academic career I was constantly tutoring my peers and have many years of formal and informal experience as a peer tutor.
Being a recent graduate of a university I am able to relate to students and understand the academic setting. I enjoy teaching and am motivated to help students achieve results in the form of grades and understanding. I think each student has their own learning style and finding that is important to the teaching process.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned two Bachelor's degrees, BA Biology/Chemistry with a concentration in Secondary Education and the second a BS in Medical Laboratory Science. Following graduation in 1987 with my first degree I taught High School Science for 4 years at 2 separate private schools – one in Wakefield, MA and the other in Columbus, OH. After two years of teaching, my desire was to enter the medical field whereby my employer provided tuition coverage for a degree in Medical Technology. While working as a Laboratory Microbiologist, I taught an Introduction to Health and Human disease at UNH for college nursing students. This past September I became a tutor in the Special Needs Department at Masconomet Regional Junior High School. I chose this department and school because I was once a student in the program. Currently, I work with 12 specific students that all have severe add and adhd. Each day we create activities that focus on their weaknesses in math and English. In addition to these two subject areas, I also attend their normally scheduled classes (Science and World Cultures). This way whenever they struggle, they know they can always count on me to assist them with their weakness.
