I tend to be really flexible and try to adapt my teaching style to the learning style of the student. For students who tend to be more tactile, I might have them handle apples if a math problem references apples. If a student is working on a writing assignment, I will offer suggestions (such as marking spelling/grammar/punction mistakes) and help them learn how to correct the errors so they won't continue to make the same errors in the future.

I completed an English Bachelor’s degree, with three different areas of focus, Professional Writing, Creative Writing, and Composition. I am finishing a Master’s degree in Rhetoric and Composition. I was graduated from the St Louis 4-year Liberal Arts high school, St Joseph's Academy, after which I spent many years in Australia. All my tertiary and teacher's credentials are from Australia, which maintains the British-style of tertiary education. My credentials qualified me to be fully employed as a professional secondary school teacher and then as an adult ESL teacher for over 10 years. As a self-employed teacher, I taught in several language schools in Australia and recently conducted classes in Business English and Presentation Skills in Chile to corporate executives and managers. In 2008, as an upper-level English major, I accepted a position with Schreiner University wherein I hoped to use my education in the concentration of composition. For the rest of my college career until I earned my B.A., I tutored fellow students at various stages of the writing process, from conceptualization to polishing. I also met frequently with fellow tutors to discuss researched tutoring theory and tactics.
