In high school I took Calculus, honors Geology, honors Chemistry, and honors English. I have three siblings that I help out with homework, as well as have tutored my fellow classmates in high school, so I can adapt to any learning style. A Little Bit About Me...

I attended Heritage University for 3.5 years in pursuit of my Nursing degree. I have taken College math, written many college papers, and studied alot of science along the way. I also cordinated a mentor program through YVCC for almost two years. I have recently changed paths and with obtain my BA in criminal justice in less than a year. I changed paths after the sudden death of my mother just over a year ago.
I learn in the most unheard of ways, and every childs learning style is different from the other, but that is what makes learning so fun. It is important for a teacher to be able to mold their instruction to fit different individuals. It is this student diversity that makes tutoring such a valuable practice at the secondary level. No two students learn in the same way or at the same speed. I value being able to focus on one student at time so that I can discover how to best facilitate the transfer of knowledge and help that student to 'learn how to learn' by applying individualized learning techniques. Often, I can best begin to reach the student by identifying their personal interest, and using these interests as themes for homework examples. I have earned a bachelor of science degree in General Science, which means I have a very good understanding of many topics including: Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Computers, and Arts. I have experience in being a leader of 10-16 people in the military as an officer. I enjoyed teaching people of their oppurtunities in furthering their education. During late nights I tutored friends in Calculus and Biology.
We all have different views, and I would like to find that gateway into the minds of children so that they can see and understand more. I use different methods for each individual. It depends on each person what they like and want in order to find the motivation in themselves. It is satisfying to see people realize that they can achieve more than they first thought.
