Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I started tutoring in my teens helping young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders develop English and Math skills as well as speech therapy and public speaking. I tutored my fellow students while attending Carroll Community College in English 101 and 102 as well as Creative Writing. I then moved on to being a one on one with high school students with special needs in the Baltimore area.
I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I believe that we all learn better one way versus another but it does not negate the many ways of learning as well. I have been in education as both a classroom teacher and as a director of a learning center for the last 25 years.
