A Little Bit About Me...

The teaching style I use is solely dependent on the learning style of the student I am teaching. I was always one to seemingly understand or learn things backwards from many of my piers and so I am intimately aware of the importance of knowing how the student learns in order to best go about teaching in such a way that it feels right and natural to the student, boosting their confidence and so promoting additional success in the endeavor. I love math, but I am a Chemistry major at MSSU because i didn't find any attractive career as a Mathematician. I tutor a lot, mostly to y friends. I am a freshman at Missouri southern. Math is my favorite course hands down. Its not very difficult for me. I would prefer to tutor elementary and junior high students, but will also work with highschool kids too. I am majoring in physical education so this really could help me out in my field. Helping Dispel the Fear of Math

I use a variety of methods such as graphically (visual), practice examples (tactile, repetition), repeating the rules/methods (aural) and occasional humor to help things stick!
I recently moved here from California. I have tutored fellow students in high school in Rhode Island, a child, grandchildren, and also tutored folks in California ranging in age from 13-30 in all types of math during the last ten years. Though I do not have a certificate, I plan on getting a temporary certificate in the next few months.
