Literature is one of my top subjects!

I am patient but firm. If a student isn't willing to put in a 100% effort then I will not waste my time. I have always gotten exemplary grades from anyone I've tutored. I teach each student differently, some are more visual, or auditory, or hands-on, and I adjust my methods to better benefit my students. Bottom line: I will work hard for you, and I expect you to work hard for you too.
I have always written, and I have always loved doing it. The same goes for reading. I have tutored various class mates through college, and have also worked at a children's enrichment center (I am currently employed there) where I teach basic reading and writing. I am also currently editing a friends novel. I made the Dean's list two years in a row, graduated with the two highest literary awards under my belt, and I have been published in the Equinox and In My Lifetime.

A Little Bit About Me...

First and foremost, I understand that no two children learn the same. I believe many children struggle in a learning environment simply because they are not comfortable with it. I excel at personal communication, and make it my first goal to find out how the student is going to learn the best. Whether it requires dancing, music, pictures, whatever it takes, once a student is comfortable they are far more likely to absorb information. This holds true for any age. I want the student to understand that they are capable of learning anything, they just may not have had the right opportunity to yet. I have been involved in a lot of activities and feel the best way to teach is to relate to the student.
