My comments on tutoring GMAT : I tutor the math portions of the test - the quantitative section and integrated reasoning. We review necessary math skills, and strengthen fundamentals so you are equipped for the data sufficiency questions, and I give you the tools needed to quickly arrive at answers without the calculator. I teach a way to read the word problems to correctly set up the question being asked. We work on timing as well, making sure you are solving only enough of the problem to answer the question. I personally can say that I have learned the most & can recall the most from those teachers that I consider my favorites. I believe it is because they knew how to inspire and motivate me to achieve what I thought I couldn’t or didn’t want to do. My teaching style is a combination of serious, in-depth theory and practical examples to demonstrate such theories, all with a hint of humor, followed by significant practice of the newly learned skills. I've been "teaching" people all of my business career. I always start with the underlying theory and immediately segue into a practical example of how the principles work.
