Any normal person can learn and master math with guidance

I have taught Math and ESL for the last ten years. I work best with struggling students to overcome their mathphobia. Foreign students who are struggling with English has great company in me since I am a foreigner myself but earned a Master in ESL in the US. I am great at preparing students for the ACT, SAT, GRE, and GMAT by working one on one.

I have a BS is Mathematics, which has given me the knowledge and confidence to teach various levels of Mathematics. I have participated in research programs which have given me a thorough understanding of how to prepare research papers. During the last decade I have taught and tutored in mathematics, reading, and study skills with a high level of success in my students. I have taught and tutored from first grade through first year college levels, mostly sixth through twelfth. While in college thought CCD classes to 4th grade students Held and directed literacy classes to English-Speaking adults. I speak and write English and Spanish fluently. Tutored Biology and Chemistry during college
After obtaining a list of objectives, I like to offer a pop quiz to set a baseline. Thereafter, topics are divided in number of days available for preparation. Most important topics and topics not well understood get time and individualized priority. Offer a challenge test at the end. Harder than the test students will face but no so hard as to lower self steem.
