I double-majored in biology in chemistry in undergrad, so the field of science and medicine is my first love and my strength. I have also received a Masters of Public Health Degree in Epidemiology, and have since completed my 2nd year of medical school. I have always had a strong affinity for math and english as well. I have a published thesis paper that was constructed and presented as required for my masters curriculum. I have been tutoring since I was in high school, and have tutored elementary to college level courses.
I have a relaxed, stress-free teaching style, while staying on task and topic. I make sure the pupils really understand the material by breaking things down to the basics, and reviewing the foundations. Teaching is more than a job for me, I really enjoy helping my students. I believe that all children have the ability and the desire to learn. Some students need a little more attention and enouragement. I enjoy getting to know my students so that I can find their strengths and weaknesses and build on them.
I began my experience teaching at a small school. I taught 7/8 grade general science, ninth grade earth and space science, and tenth grade biology. I worked at this school for two years, before relocating. I then worked with a tutoring service. I tutored elementary students in a private setting (in homes) in reading and math. I also taught seventh grade science at another small school.
